Glasses clinked and music filled the air for the exclusive Uncork and Unwind event at the Silver Creek Event Center at Four Winds Casino Resort in New Buffalo, Michigan.
The annual event, currently in its fifth year at Four Winds, brought together some of the very best wineries from around the state of Michigan, including Chateau Chantal, Chateau Grand Traverse, Round Barn, Tabor Hill, Fenn Valley Winery and many others, giving guests the chance not just to taste some of the finest wines around, but to meet and interact with representatives from their favorite wineries.
Jason George, director of entertainment for Four Winds Casino Resort, believes it’s the overall environment that makes the event such a success year after year.
“It’s the vibe, the music selection. It’s a very ‘feel-good’ environment... very fun and active,” George said. “And it’s all inside, so we’re not weather-dependent.”
In addition to an outstanding selection of local wines and delectable food pairings, visitors to Uncork and Unwind also enjoyed music, courtesy of El Trio De Equilibrio.
“They’re a very cool band, very unique, offering their own mix of pop, world rhythm, and jazz. They’re a very good fit for this event. And of course, we’ll also have Dave Hiltebrand, who is a regular here at Four Winds,” said George.
Attendance has been building steadily throughout the years the event has been held, with this year’s attendance expected to top 1,400 people.
“We get more and more people every year. They come not just for the wine tasting, but for all the other amenities we offer here at Four Winds. They can eat at Hard Rock Cafe, or our Copper Rock Steakhouse,” George explained. “They can enjoy a drink at our C Bar, play some games or even stay in our hotel. It’s a complete entertainment venue.”
Along with a relaxing environment and some of the best wine around, admission included a commemorative tasting glass and a ticket redeemable for up to 10 tastings. From live entertainment to refreshing glasses of wine, the night brought together the very best of Michigan.
