Accidents happen. Unfortunately, many of them occur when the doctor's office or urgent care center is closed late in the evening or on weekends after regular operating hours. When you are faced with a critical health issue, there is no time to research the best option for quality care.

NW Indiana 24/7 ER & Hospital offers comprehensive emergency care options for serious illnesses, chronic medical conditions, accidents, injuries, and other traumas. The specialty-micro hospital's mission is to provide Northwest Indiana residents with access to a higher level of round-the-clock emergency care, according to Scott Samlan, MD, FACEP, chief executive officer and physician partner.

Scott Samlan, MD, FACEP

“We understand that emergencies can happen at any time which is why NW Indiana ER & Hospital is here for our patients, 24 hours a day, seven days a week,” said Samlan. “Our board-certified doctors and nurse practitioners specialize in emergency medicine and have been practicing for more than 10 years. Many of us are from this area and have a particular interest in the health and well-being of Northwest Indiana residents.”

Samlan has been practicing emergency medicine for more than 15 years. He is board certified and recognized as a Fellow of the American College of Emergency Medicine. Born and raised in Chicago, he completed his undergraduate studies at the University of Texas at Austin.

Samlan earned his medical degree from Sackler School of Medicine, New York State/American Program of Tel Aviv University. After completing his residency at Resurrection Medical Center in Chicago, he became a core faculty associate professor of the Emergency Medicine residency program where he created and implemented a medical simulation program for emergency medicine residents.

Through the years, Samlan has received numerous honors for his achievements. He was awarded “Top Physician in Patient Satisfaction” by Advocate Sherman Hospital for three consecutive years. He has been featured on CNN, Fox News, ABC, and “CBS This Morning.”

At NW Indiana ER & Hospital, every scan and test is evaluated by this expert team of physicians, radiologists and technicians to ensure patients get results quickly. Imaging and laboratory services are a pivotal part of effective emergency care and are an important key in providing efficient treatment. MRI, X-rays, and CT scans are invaluable tools that allow doctors to quickly determine the type, severity, and location of an injury. Ultrasounds and other imaging equipment help to identify blockages, abnormalities, and other health issues.

“With access to an onsite clinical laboratory and a state-of-the-art imaging suite, we ensure every patient receives personalized care in a timely fashion,” Samlan said. “At the end of their visit, we want each patient to leave our hospital with a comprehensive follow-up plan and with the satisfaction that they had the best experience possible in their time of need.”
