Fleet Feet Sports and United Way of Porter County to Host Race 13.1 Valpo

unitedway_portercountyFleet Feet Sports and T&H Timing have partnered with United Way of Porter County to organize Race 13.1 Valpo, a half marathon, to be held on Sunday, November 13 with a portion of the proceeds benefiting United Way of Porter County’s Power of Youth Council. The race will begin and end at the United Way office located in the Eastport Centre in Valparaiso, IN. The course is flat and fast with very few turns and intersections. A perfect course for a half marathon personal best! Each winner will receive an embroidered running hat. Top quality technical race t-shirts and finisher medals will also be awarded to all participants. Runners and guests will have the opportunity to meet Fleet Feet Pete, the 8-foot shoe race mascot.

Proceeds of the race will support United Way of Porter County’s Power of Youth Council. Because many issues facing young people today stem from having low levels of self esteem, the Council has decided to focus its efforts on increasing levels of youth self esteem. These civically engaged high school student leaders are active role models and advocates of positive decision-making. Their goals include increasing awareness of teen issues and engaging youth in volunteering and raising funds for programs in Porter County that address youth-specific needs.

Current registration fee is $35. For additional race information and registration, visit www.thtiming.com. Race day registration fee is $45.
