Explore Science through Summer Reading at Crown Point and Winfield Branch Libraries

2014-Crown-Point-Library-Summer-Reading-01This year, children and teens will explore science through reading as the Crown Point Community Library presents “Fizz, Boom, Read!” as its 2014 summer reading theme. The free Summer Reading Club is open to all ages, preschool through adult, and will run from June 9 to July 25. Registration begins June 9.

A “Fizz, Boom, Read” kickoff party is scheduled for on June 17 from 10:00 - 4:00 p.m. at the Crown Point Library. It will be a day of fun science experiments, tasty treats, crafts and more! The event is free and open to all registered participants.

The 2014 Summer Reading Club will feature a variety of science-themed, educational, and fun programs to help fill your summer days. Children and teens can enjoy other activities such as Read to the Dogs, Lunch on the Lawn, Mad Scientist Lab science experiments, Story Times, Bingo for Books, Lego Clubs and more during the Summer Reading Club. Not to be left out, adults can also get into the summer reading fun and participate in lively book discussions, craft programs, knitting and crocheting groups and more and be entered to win a Kindle Paper white donated by the Friends of the Crown Point Library.
