Eisenhower Elementary Students Participate in “Put Our Nose in a Book”

eisenhower-students-hawaii-1At Eisenhower Elementary School, we hosted a school wide assembly in our gymnasium with more than 693 students and staff members in attendance. We gathered to “Put Our Nose in a Book.” Our theme was “Surf a Good Book!”

The principal, Mary Ann Chapko, read the “Pig Kahuna” which was enlarged on a giant screen so everyone could follow along and enjoy the illustrations. Students and staff dressed in Hawaiian attire complete with leis to go along with their red noses. After the book conclusion, we sang and danced to a modified “reading” version of the “Hukilau.”

A wonderful time was had by all in attendance.
