Eisenhower Elementary Celebrates 2014 National Library Week

eisenhower-elementary-lake-county-animal-shelter-01Eisenhower Elementary School celebrated National Library Week by doing a community service project for the Lake County Animal Control Center. Eisenhower students brought in food and helpful items (towels, bleach, toys, kitty litter, etc.) for the animals. They received a raffle ticket for each item they donated.

Four winners were chosen at the end of the week for a special prize. Among our canine guest were two dogs from the Power Paws Organization along with their human friends Linda Olsen and Christopher Peacock. Julie Woodburn brought in three rescued dogs and promoted the Greyhound Rescue Organization. Pickles the Media Mutt was also among the honored guest. The students at Eisenhower learned a lot about therapy dogs, and community responsibility during this special event.
