The Duneland School Corporation has named Heidi Hennigar as the new Liberty Elementary Principal for the 2022-2023 school year. “Heidi is a proven leader and an outstanding educator. We are very excited to have her in this new leadership position,” said Superintendent Dr. Chip Pettit.
Heidi Hennigar will transition to Liberty Elementary School for the 2022-2023 school year. She has been serving as an assistant principal at Chesterton High School (CHS) since 2020. Heidi, a longtime Chesterton resident and 1999 CHS graduate, also served as elementary teacher at Yost Elementary for 16 years and was the Dean of Students at Westchester Intermediate for one year in 2019-2020. Heidi and her husband Brian, also a CHS teacher, have two children who both attend Duneland Schools – Job (11) and Hattie (9).
