A Broadway hit will come to the Bishop Noll Institute stage this spring, and tickets are now on sale.
The Drama Club’s spring musical, “Little Shop of Horrors,” will be presented at 7:30 p.m. April 14 and 15 and at 2:30 p.m. April 16. BNI’s Fine Arts Department cast, crew and band have worked since January to put this fiendishly funny musical together. Tickets cost $10 and can be purchased online. A deviously delicious Broadway and Hollywood sci-fi smash musical, “Little Shop Of Horrors” has devoured the hearts of theater goers for more than 30 years. Howard Ashman and Alan Menken (Disney's “The Little Mermaid,” “Beauty And The Beast” and “Aladdin”) are the creative geniuses behind what has become one of the most popular shows in the world.
Noll students Keira Quinlan and Lacey Stanford are dance captains for this show.
The cast includes Ayanna Wash as Seymore, Maisie Wragg as Audrey, Jackson Montgomery (voice) and Jayla Lee (puppeteer) as Audrey 2 (Plant), Emiliano Soto as Mr. Mushnik and Brian Barragan as Orin/Dentist. Urchins are played by Amy Ledezma, Taylor Adams, Amanda Gholston, Annica Thomas, Hailey Wojtaszek.
The ensemble includes Bradley Dorsey, Joaquin Martinez, Sophia Mendez, Iris Romero, Keira Quinlan, Mathieu Jadrych, Indigo Moore, Bella Garcia, Anna Gee, Lizbeth Gonzalez, Taylor Holland, Lacey Stanford, Ruby Tolnai, Aranza Toral-Arellano, Andres Torres-Cruz and Jara Zamora.
BNI Theatre Co. is Bishop Noll Institute's performing arts department located on-campus in Hammond, Indiana. The company performs two shows a year: a fall play and a spring musical. The company is open for anyone to join as a performer, stage manager, lighting technician, sound technician, prop manager, set construction, set design, makeup artist, hair stylist, costume designer, and more.
In addition to its regular performing arts company, hard-working actors and technicians have the opportunity to be inducted into BNI's thespian troupe: Troupe #3873. For years, this distinguished troupe has had the ability to compete at the regional and state level. The troupe holds itself to a high standard of theatrical performance, staying true to the values set by professional Broadway performers while also creating an accepting environment.
