Donations Requested for Humane Society 2014 Book Sale

Humane-Society-Calumet-AreaHumane Society Calumet Area (HSCA) is seeking book donations for its winter book sale fundraiser.

Donations of gently used adult and youth books, CDs and DVDs are appreciated and can be delivered to Paws Resale Shoppe, 8149 Kennedy Ave., Highland, Ind. Donations are accepted Monday through Saturday, 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the shop.

The book sale will be held Jan. 14 through 17 at Paws Resale Shoppe, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Wednesday; 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Thursday and Friday; and 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday.

For a $5 donation, shoppers can attend the sneak preview of the sale on Wednesday, Jan. 14 from 10 a.m. to noon and a $5 bag sale is held on Saturday.

Proceeds from the book sale benefit the animals of HSCA.

Founded by concerned citizen Miss Evelyn Sweitzer in 1941, Humane Society Calumet Area aims to lead the community in the humane treatment of animals by providing vital community services.
