Crown Point Welcomes New Firefighter

Mayor Pete Land swore in the newest Crown Point public safety official during a Wednesday Board of Public Works and Safety meeting.

Firefighter/Paramedic Amy Early, badge No. 81, is a longtime Crown Point resident, who  became an EMT in 1995. Early graduated from the Methodist Paramedic Academy in 1999.

Early has spent nine years working with Crown Point Fire Rescue as a part-time paramedic.

“Amy is a very experienced paramedic, which is a very sought after trait we are looking for  to balance out our six EMTs that will be starting paramedic academy next year,” Crown  Point Fire Chief Mark Baumgardner Jr. said. “The City of Crown Point and our department  are excited and lucky Amy has chosen Crown Point as her home.”

She is assigned to Turn 3 under the supervision of Battalion Chief Joe Ferrantella. Early is  the 10th firefighter hired in 2023 and the 14th firefighter hired under Mayor Land.
