The Crown Point High School Bulldogs rolled past the Morton High SchoolGovernors 78-40 on Tuesday night, a strong bounce back win after dropping two conference games to Valparaiso and Lake Central.
Following their 62-57 loss last Friday to Lake Central, Head Coach Clint Swan had stressed to the team the importance of getting back to basics. Throughout the night, the Bulldogs nailed the basics, letting them build an early lead that they never relinquished.
“We weren’t fundamentally very sound in our loss to Lake Central,” Swan said. “So for us to come out here tonight, take good care of the basketball, and shore up some things defensively was really good to see.”
Ty Smith, Drew Adzia, and Jake Oostman led Crown Point in scoring, posting 12 points apiece – all of Smith’s coming from beyond the arc. Ladaion Barnes led the Governors with 8 points.
The Bulldogs will face Lowell at home on Friday, while the Governors are set to visit the Portage Indians, also on Friday.
