The Crown Point Police Department is now accepting applications for police officers.
The application opens on Monday, April 15, 2024, and closes at 4 p.m. CST Monday, May 6, 2024. Applications can be found on the City of Crown Point website at www.crownpoint.in.gov.
Eligibility:
• Previous law enforcement experience not required.
• Must be between 21 and 40 years of age by time of hire.
• Must have a valid Indiana driver’s license.
• Must have a high school diploma or GED equivalent.
• Must meet minimum standards of membership in the 1977 Police Officers Pension and Disability Fund.
Benefits:
• Starting pay of $63,850.54
• Lateral transfers are eligible for promotion 90 days after completion of the field training program to $72,972.38 • 12-hour shifts (2-month rotation from days to nights; every other weekend off) • PERF retirement rate of $84,364.48
