The Crown Point Police Department is pleased to announce its inaugural Trunk or Treat.
Join CPPD officers from 1-3 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 29, at Legacy Fields at Center Ross Park, located at 851 Center Ross Road, for a free Trunk or Treat.
Officers will have their squad cars decorated for the event, with candy and swag for children. Officers also will have their new trading cards available for the community.
“In year’s past, the police department has participated in the City’s Pumpkin Walk. We wanted to add on to the weekend and offer a Trunk or Treat for the community,” Crown Point Police Chief Ryan S. Patrick said. “We hope this family friendly event will spark conversations about Halloween safety ahead of trick-or-treating in the neighborhoods.”
The event comes as the police department launched its new wave of trading cards in early October.
Crown Point children ages 4 to 12 are invited to participate in the department’s trading card contest, with the goal of collecting all 64 trading cards. The contest is underway and ends Wednesday, Nov. 1.
Once all 64 cards are collected, the child participant and their parent can stop by the police station at 124 N. East St. with their complete collection.
The first four participants to collect all 64 cards will receive a prize. First place will receive a Nintendo Switch or a $200 Target gift card; second place prize will receive a $100 Target gift card; and third and fourth place will each receive a $50 Target gift card.
