crown-point-libraryMusic of the World War II Era: The Big Bands
Swing music, driven by the Big Bands, swept through America in the 1920's and 30's. It continued during the war years. Big Bands played a pivotal role in fighting the war by entertaining the troops as well as Americans on the home front.

Dr. John Ban invites you to come in and sit in on the electricity of the Big Bands of that day. Watch and listen to Count Bassie, Duke Ellington, Glenn Miller, Benny Goodman, Harry James, Tommy and Jimmy Dorsey and other great band leaders. The event is on Thursday, November 13 at 1:00 p.m. at the Crown Point Library.

This program is free, registration is not required.
