Crown Point Boys Basketball vs. Lake Central

Crown Point Boys Basketball vs. Lake Central

For Crown Point and Lake Central fans, the ultimate Friday night is watching their teams compete in a heated head-to-head basketball game.

The Lake Central Indians Boys Basketball (11-12) battled against the Crown Point Bulldogs (10-8). The game was intense and tight throughout the entire game, but Lake Central ended up on top with a score of 51-42. Both teams were very well represented by fans and fellow students who cheered them on loudly.

The Crown Point and Lake Central pep blocks were on fire during the game, each having their own theme to support the teams. Lake Central’s pep block theme was based around “America” with the students wearing red, white, and blue colors. Many students had American flags and other patriotic symbols to contribute to the spirit. On the opposite side of the court, Crown Point’s pep block theme was ‘black out’.

“I like to come out and show support for the CP teams because it’s a high school experience that we’ll never get back and it’s really fun to be here with my friends, cheering for our fellow classmates,” said Crown Point Sophomore, Em Garcia. “Go Dogs!”

During halftime, the crowd was entertained by the JV Lake Central Centralettes who performed an exhilarating dance. After the performance, coaches and players of Lake Central’s younger basketball teams were announced and introduced to the crowd. The “future of Lake Central basketball” included many young boys who loved to play basketball and be a part of the Lake Central school system. Fans went wild for the halftime presentations both by the Centralettes and the future Lake Central Indian basketball players.

Both teams were generously represented and supported at Friday's game. Both teams showed great acts of sportsmanship and compassion with one another which makes the game more enjoyable for everyone.

The Crown Point Bulldogs will face Hammond Morton High School at home on Tuesday while the Lake Central Indians will face Marquette Catholic, also at home on Tuesday. Good luck to both teams!
