The new teachers and administrators from the Crown Point and Merrillville School Corporations were welcomed to the area and treated to a delicious lunch, generous goodie bag filled with supplies, entertainment, and a chance to win one of 30 door prizes donated by Crossroad Regional Chamber of Commerce members, at the Annual New Teacher Luncheon. The teachers were grateful for the welcoming spirit of the event and are now looking forward to the 2016/17 school year.

The "Crossroads String Ensemble", from the Merrillville Senior High School, and Crown Point High School, created an elegant atmosphere as they entertained at the luncheon. The ensemble was led by Music Directors, Aarom Zemelko and Diane B. Rosenthal. Ensemble members were: Katleen Aton, Nick Burrell, Fabienne Christenson, Maddie Edwards, Vanessa Garcia, Lauren Massow, Maxwell Moore and Staffan Santiago.
