Congratulations to Donna Golob, IYI’s 2021 Youth Worker of the Year!

Congratulations to Donna Golob, IYI’s 2021 Youth Worker of the Year!

One of the stories that inspired us was the impact that Donna Golob has on the youth in Northwest Indiana, through her work as Executive Director of A Positive Approach to Teen Health (PATH, Inc.). We are thrilled to award Ms. Golob IYI’s 2021 D. Susan Wisely Youth Worker of the Year Award!

“It is such an honor to receive the IYI's 2021 D. Susan Wisely award. It is truly a privilege to equip and empower young people,” said Ms. Golob. “Thank you to IYI and thank you to everyone who has supported and encouraged me throughout my years of service.”

Ms. Golob has served as PATH’s Executive Director since 2010. PATH is an educational 501c3 nonprofit organization that produces healthy lifestyle curriculum for educators in school districts nationwide and provides direct-outreach services to 23 districts in nine counties throughout Northwest Indiana. Since its inception in 1993, PATH has educated and empowered over 200,000 teens to make healthy choices regarding drugs, sex, alcohol, and relationship violence.

“My passion for working with youth comes from my own experience,” said Ms. Golob. “If I can do anything to help another young lady and another family not go what I went through, I’ve made a difference.”

The D. Susan Wisely Youth Worker of the Year award honors one exceptional youth worker’s service and commitment to help improve the futures of Hoosier children. The award is named for the retired director of evaluation at Lilly Endowment Inc. who oversaw the development of numerous youth service-related programs such as the Lilly Fellows Program, which established many policies and organizations aimed at improving the quality of life for Hoosier children, including IYI.
