Community Members Requested to Share Their Vision for Hobart NW on June 18, 2015

Hobart-2015-Vision-RevIIOn Thursday, June 18th, from 5:30 - 7:30 p.m., members of the community, area businesses, elected officials, the Neighborhood Spotlight Steering Committee, Legacy Foundation representatives, and the Indiana Association for Community Economic Development (IACED) will come together to initiate the development of a shared area vision. The Vision Session will be held at the Hobart Family YMCA at 601 West 40th Place.

This session will serve as a venue for participants to develop and publicly share ideas and visions that will aid in the revitalization of the Hobart NW Neighborhood Spotlight footprint. IACED Staff will conduct a visioning exercise with an accompanying report out session. Further, Spotlight Working Groups will be identified and their roles in the Collective Impact planning process addressed. Participants will be asked to sign up for these important Working Groups.

The Hobart NW Neighborhood Spotlight Initiative is made possible from a grant from the Legacy Foundation and with program support from the Indiana Association for Community Economic Development. The year-long grant will “organize, decide, and act” on ideas and concepts gathered from the community to revitalize and empower the area. The Spotlight Program ultimately serves to develop a community-driven Quality of Life / Collective Impact Plan and a list of implementable projects to assist in making the Northwest Side of Hobart a more desirable community to live, work, play, worship, and learn.
