Over 350 students of the Chesterton Middle School Music Department recently performed at the ISSMA Middle School Organization Contest. The seventh and eighth grade band and orchestra students traveled to Knox, IN and the two choirs traveled to West Lafayette, IN.
Each of the six groups received a Gold rating and four of the groups received the special "With Distinction" honor due to their good scores. Student representatives from each of the six groups with their awards are, left to right, Alyssa Cole, Hokulani McCracken, Morgan Marmolejo, Charlie Bernth, Agia Amezcua-Bone, Sarah Harmon, John Wheeler and Isaac Beatty. Directors for the groups are Amy Otto, choirs; Vince Arizzi, bands and Tom Schnabel, orchestras.
