Civic to host Shamrock Shindig for second year

Those in search of plans this St. Paddy’s day should look no further than the City of La Porte, according the Civic Auditorium & Events Director Brett Binversie.

The Civic’s Shamrock Shindig is back for round two on Saturday, Mar. 18. From live Irish folk music and green beer to St. Paddy’s inspired food specials and cornhole games, Binversie said there’s something for everyone to enjoy at this family-friendly event.

“This event turned out to be a hit last year, and we are excited to bringing it back for round two,” Binversie said. “St. Patrick’s Day is just a fun time to gather with friends and family, and we’re glad to host such an event at the people’s house. We hope to see many smiling faces next weekend – all wearing green, of course.”

Floor seating general admission is $10, and reserved tables for 8 are $100. Binversie said those who purchase tables may enter the table decorating contest. He said the winners will earn a $50 gift card to Enzo’s.

Binversie said this year’s event is made possible by Mitch Feikes Builders, Inc.

Doors will open at 6 p.m. with the band, Celtic Roots, taking the stage at 7 p.m. A cash bar will be open to patrons aged 21 and older. For more information and to purchase tickets, visit laportecivicauditorium.com.
