City of Crown Point Weekly Message – Week 46, Nov. 16, 2021

Good evening, this is a message from the City of Crown Point with our weekly update.    

Delaware Street will be closed between East 118th Avenue and East 119th Place for water main work beginning Wednesday, Nov. 17, through Friday, Nov. 19, weather permitting. Please follow the posted detour signs.  

Discover cool programming at Bulldog Park this winter. The deadline is approaching to sign up for the city of Crown Point’s Learn to Skate and Developmental Hockey programs. Register by Nov. 22 to learn the basics of ice skating and hockey.   

Vendor applications are still being accepted for the Crown Point Winter Market, held from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Friday, Nov. 26 at the Sparta Dome. Vendor applications are due by this Friday, Nov. 19. For more information, call the Mayor’s Office of Special Events at 219-662-3290.   

The city of Crown Point and Commonwealth Engineers invites the community to cut the ribbon on the first phase of the Combined Sewer Overflow 005 project at Taft Middle School. The ceremony is at 10 a.m. this Friday, Nov. 19.   

The Crown Point Community Library will be closed for staff training this Friday, Nov. 19.  

Spread cheer this holiday season by supporting fundraisers for the Crown Point Adopt a Family program. The city is collecting non-perishable food items at Bulldog Park at 183 S. West St., and bags of groceries can be purchased for families at Strack & Van Til at 200 W. Franciscan Drive. Monetary donations can be made by calling the Mayor’s Office of Special Events at 219-662-3290.  

Looking for a way to give back this holiday season? The city of Crown Point PACE Department is looking for volunteers for upcoming holiday events, including the Winter Market, photos with Santa and Mrs. Claus at the Courthouse and the Tour of Lights.
