“Another four years to continue what we began four years ago with a proud report, and we are continuing to work hard every single day," said LaPorte Mayor Tom Dermody.

"The Council department has all of our workers that come to work every day to make La Porte a better place and I really meant it when I say that this is not just about one person. This is about all of us together, including the residents. I believe the residents believe in where we are headed. They are proud of this community, which is always a top priority for us,” said Dermody

Dermody let it be known how thankful he was to be able to continue as mayor. He stated that there is nowhere else he would rather be and no other community he would want to serve than his hometown of La Porte.

“We are not settling as I said, there will be no status quo. We will continue to lead with bold leadership. We are thrilled for what is around the bend here for the next four years,” said Dermody.

As La Porte continues its economic growth that Dermody and company have been building, the next four years should be rather fun to watch for members of La Porte.

When asked about the excitement level for the upcoming calendar year, Mayor Dermody said, “We feel fantastic because we are continuing what we began and now we get to continue that starting tomorrow. Again, we are not settling. There are going to be new things that I think you will see in our community that hopefully other communities will strive for because we want to be the best for sure. I am just so thankful for the opportunity to serve another four years and I love La Porte.”

As for Clerk-Treasurer Courtney Parthun, she was able to swear-in two Deputy Clerk-Treasurers, those being Ashley Knoll and Joanne Layman. Parthun’s confidence in La Porte’s future and continuing growth is easily noticeable.

“The last four years were a learning curve for us. Luckily now, we can really dive in and continue the good things that we have been doing for the last four years,” said Parthun.

The citizens of La Porte are in great hands and have some people in charge who truly care for every one of them - which are the qualities that are the most desired.

“The excitement level is the same as it was four years ago. We have a great team. I specifically love my team in the clerk treasurer's office. They work super hard and deserve every ounce of credit they get, we are excited for the future of LaPorte,” said Parthun.
