Purdue University Calumet played host to Mayor Thomas McDermott Wednesday May 27. McDermott and staff host these meetings to provide Hammond citizens with a direct outlet to voice their concerns and ask questions.

The meeting was conducted in an open forum format, with staff members directly fielding questions pertaining to their department. Citywide transit, traffic, utilities and sanitation were among the topics. McDermott answered written questions that were drafted ahead of time as well as questions from Hammond citizens in attendance. McDermott also went into great detail about several city projects.
