CHS Business Professionals of America (BPA) students compete at State competition; four qualify for Nationals

On December 8, 2019,  Chesterton High School (CHS) students competed in the Business Professionals of America regional competition hosted at Kankakee Valley High School. Of the 20 students who competed, 17 students qualified to advance to the state level this past weekend in Indianapolis. Those students competing as a team at the state level were:

Broadcast News Team - Gavin Bonner, Michael Campbell, Alan Stirling and Arti Patel 

Presentation Management Team -Milena Veltri, David Sharp, Zachary Zimmerman and Leah Rochford.

Those students competing individually were: 

Joshua Osborn – Business Law and Ethics

John Andy Gerth – Banking and Finance/ Accounting

Arti Patel – Banking and Finance

Max Cohen –  PC Servicing and Troubleshooting and Intermediate Word Processing

Joseph Adcock – Java Programming and Fundamental Spreadsheet Applications

Aiden Li – Fundamentals of Web Design and Java Programming

Milena Veltri – Extemporaneous Speech

Zachary Zimmerman – Fundamental Spreadsheet Applications

Nalani Malackowski – Advanced Office Systems and Procedures

Celia Faroh – Prepared Speech

Xavier Pittman – Personal Finance and Fundamental Accounting

Conner Mathis – Personal Finance

Four CHS students qualified for Nationals to be hosted in Washington, D.C. on May 6-10

Milena Veltri – Extemporaneous Speech  - 3rd place (top three advance to Nationals)

Max Cohen – PC Servicing and Troubleshooting- 5th place (top six advance to Nationals)

Aiden Li – Java Programming – 4th place (top 6 advance to Nationals)

Joseph Adcock – Fundamental Spreadsheet Applications – 3rd place (top six advance to Nationals)
