Circle the State With Song is a statewide children’s choral festival created and sponsored by the Indiana Music Educators Association. Participants in each of the twelve designated areas of the state are chosen by their music teachers to be members of these select choirs.
With the help of their music teacher Dawn Flasch, student vocalists from Westchester Intermediate School prepared the music in advance and came together for a Saturday rehearsal with Tim Cahalan, elementary guest clinician, culminating in an afternoon performance at Hebron High School on March 5.
Student participants are front row, kneeling left to right, Daisy McCracken, Gracelyn Perrine, Peyton Day and Sophia Palmer. Row 2, Nevaeh Scrivnor, Chloe Eash, Kendall Stevens, David Archbald, Maxine King, Amanda Michael and Emma Broward. Back row, Principal Shawn Longacre, Mark Jewison, Lauren Bolla, Hannah Estridge, Emily Chisolm, Courtney Bartolini and teacher Dawn Flasch. (Duneland Schools photo by Bridget Martinson)
