Chesterton High School Show Choirs Successful at Silver Spotlight Invitational

CHS-Show-Choirs-Collage-01-26-15The CHS Show Choirs and Show Choir Band competed at the Silver Spotlight Invitational at Fishers High School in Fishers, IN this past Saturday. The CHS Show Choir band played outstanding and were complimented for their attention to musical detail. The Drifters captured third place in the Large Women’s Division and their performance earned them a spot in the Women’s Finals. They had an even better performance in the Finals and captured the third runner-up trophy in the Women’s Division overall. The Sandpipers took first place in the Large Mixed Division and earned a place in the Mixed Finals. During the Finals, the Sandpipers earned the Best Choreography Caption and were named Grand Champions.

The CHS Show Choirs are under the direction of Choral Director Kristin Morris, assisted by Kathy Barbian with choreography by Victor Rodriguez (Drifters) and Alex Hall (Sandpipers). The Show Choir Band is under the direction of Erin Gerig. In addition to the staff, there are countless parent volunteers who travel along and help make all of it possible.

“The students came out with such energy and intensity. They really took their shows to the next level during finals,” Morris said. “I could not be more proud of the hard work and dedication these students put in. Their commitment to the program and each other is something I feel blessed to be a part of.” Morris offered her congratulations to the hard working students, parents and staff of the CHS Show Choir program on a successful start to their spring season.
