Chesterton HIgh School Boys Lacrosse Wins LaPorte Tournament 5-7-16

Chesterton_HIgh_School_Boys_Lacrosse_Win-1After receiving a bye in the first round, the Trojans defeated host LaPorte 19-3 in the semifinals. The Trojan offense was unstoppable with 7 players scoring goals. Leading the goal count was Trey Beeler with 4, followed by Blake Ellenwood, Mason Witt and Zak Smith with 3 each. Max Martin, Sam Westergren, and Dane Stanley scored 2 goals each. Trey Beeler also led the way with 6 assists. The defense led by Andrew Mays, Kevin Fulk and Max Martin and Nolan Walton held LaPorte to three goals. Kyle Bucy had 6 saves on goal. The Trojans dominated time of possession. Jack Masten, Sam Westergren and Trey Beeler combined to win 13 face offs.

In the championship game, Chesterton defeated LaLumiere 15-9. Again, the scoring was spread out among 6 players, with Mason Witt leading the way 4 goals. Trey Beeler, and Dane Stanley contributed 3 goals each. Sam Westergren and Zak Smith each scored 2 and Andrew Mays scored 1. Ground balls were dominated by Chesterton with Andrew Mays leading with 10. Blake Ellenwod and Max Martin grabbed 5 each and Dane Sanley, Sam Westergren and Mason Witt grabbed 3 each.
