Ten candidates were nominated for the 2022 CHS Football homecoming royalty. The candidates are:
Henry Bell, son of John and Jen Bell of Chesterton, is active in Boy Scouts (Troop 908) and is currently working on an Eagle Scout project at Ameling Field near the middle school.
Bridger Fowler, son of Kim and Trevin Fowler of Chesterton, is active in the CHS Show Choir Sandpipers and will be participating in the CHS fall musical. He also enjoys playing on the Chesterton Lacrosse team and trains in jujitsu martial arts.
Kara Haynes is the daughter of Merri and Dave Haynes of Chesterton.
Christian Kelly, son of Kevin and Nicole Kelly of Chesterton, is active on the CHS varsity soccer team and is a member of National Honor Society (NHS). He also volunteers his time as a youth soccer coach outside of school.
Jorge Ortiz, son of Jorge and Louise Ortiz of Valparaiso, is active in CHS football and wrestling.
Jacqueline Ringler, daughter of Jodi and Don Ringler of Valparaiso, is the president of the CHS Key Club; and is a member of Business Professionals of America and NHS. She is also an honor student, and has earned a work ethic certificate each year as well as a business certificate.
Alex Santucci, son of Anthony and Mallory Santucci of Chesterton, is active in CHS football and baseball.
Aubree Wallen, daughter of Tiffany and Andrew Wallen of Chesterton, is active in the CHS Show Choir Sandpipers, the CHS Red Cross Club as a certification committee lead and is a CHS Peer Tutor.
Samantha Williams, daughter of Anne-Marie and Jason Williams of Valparaiso, is an International Baccalaureate (IB) program student. She is active in the Trojan Guard Marching Band, Pep Band and is a member of the French club.
Kaley Wissing, daughter of Jason and April Volk of Chesterton, is a member of the CHS Dance Team Club and actively dances with Eclipse Performing Arts.
The CHS homecoming royalty will be chosen on Friday, Sept. 23 at halftime at the homecoming football game against the Portage Indians. The homecoming game begins at 7 p.m. at the CHS Football Stadium. Prior to the game, the homecoming parade will kick-off at 4 p.m. on Friday, Sept. 23 from the Chesterton Middle School Pool parking lot and will follow this route: Porter Ave to Calumet, Calumet to Broadway, Broadway to Sixth and back to CMS.
