Challenger Learning Center to Host July Second Saturday Event

Challenger Learning Center of Northwest Indiana will host its July Second Saturday Family Science Program event on Saturday, July 13, beginning at 3:15 p.m. The event includes a laser light show and a planetarium show.

Attendees may purchase tickets for individual laser light shows or planetarium shows for $5 for adults and $3 for children 14 and under. A special package including both shows is $8 for adults and $5 for children 14 and under.

The planetarium show will be Summer Sky Show and Dawn of the Space Age. Attendees will trace humanity’s first steps into space through a look at both the Russian and American ventures into the cosmos. This accurate historic reconstruction of man’s first steps into space will showcase the drive, passion and perseverance of the men and women that took part in the death-defying endeavors.

The laser light show, Laser Spirit!, will feature patriotic songs from artists such as John Williams, U2, Lee Greenwood, the Beatles and more.

Individual planetarium shows begin at 3:15 p.m. and 5:10 p.m. Individual laser light shows begin at 4:15 p.m. and 6:10 p.m.
