Centier Bank was recently awarded the Business Investment Award at the Economic Development Corporation of Michigan City’s (EDCMC) Silver Anniversary Gala and Investment Awards. The event recognized companies that have invested in Michigan City from 2018-2021.
The EDCMC's Silver Anniversary Gala & Business Investment Awards were an opportunity to honor companies and community leaders while marking 25 years of making an impact on the city and region. Centier Bank ventured into the Michiana Region in 2004 when it opened a branch in La Porte. In the summer of 2019 was when Centier opened its Michigan City location at 5501 Franklin St. conveniently located near the intersection of I-94 and US-421.
The branch features over 1,800 square feet of banking space, with drive-up banking capabilities, a drive-up Smart EZ-Deposit ATM, and night depository capabilities. The interior of the building showcases the local flavor of the Michigan City community, along with offering free Wi-Fi, and a coffee bar to coincide with Centier’s hospitality when welcoming clients into the branch.
Mike Schrage, CEO and Chairman of Centier Bank, said he is truly touched that the EDCMC has recognized Centier Bank for its meaningful impact on the community.
“Centier Bank’s Servant Heart culture is exemplified through personalized banking relationships, but it also means giving back to our neighbors in Michigan City,” Schrage said. “We at Centier strive to enrich lives in many ways, and our associates exemplify what it means to be a true community bank.”
Centier Bank received the Investment Award for its banking center in Michigan City and its continued investment in the region. The Business Investment Awards are in recognition of companies that provide valuable contributions to Michigan City’s economic development.
Clarence Hulse, Executive Director of the EDCMC, said the organization is fortunate to partner with businesses, nonprofits and beyond that invest in all aspects of the community and add value to its quality of life through business attraction and retention and entrepreneurial outreach.
"Centier Bank has a long-standing mission in our communities as a family-owned bank that serves our residents and business owners through its vital programs and offerings,” said Clarence Hulse, Executive Director of the EDCMC. “Centier's leadership team and associates understand the importance of being a true community bank by working within the region to volunteer, donate, and give back in any way that they can.”
