Centier Bank proudly presented a $2,500 community donation to aid in the construction of the North Township Fallen Heroes Memorial, which will pay tribute to North Township police officers, firefighters, and emergency medical service personnel who have died in the line of duty.

The Township broke ground on the memorial last month at Wicker Park, 8554 Indianapolis Blvd. in Highland. It will include three granite pillars, benches, and memorial bricks, and be surrounded by open space to host visitors, in remembrance of more than 30 North Township first responders who have died in the line of duty.

“One of the most important values at Centier Bank is a commitment to the communities we serve,” explained Anthony Contrucci, Vice President of Business Development at Centier Bank. “First responders are the protectors of our communities, and we will always show our gratitude to them in any way we can. We are honored to support the North Township Fallen Heroes Memorial.”

North Township Trustee, Frank Mrvan, said the memorial will serve as a staple of North Township and the Town of Highland, and the support from area corporations, organizations, and community members has been appreciated.

“Wicker Park has been recognized as a memorial for fallen soldiers…now we will be able to recognize [individuals] who have given their lives for our safety,” explained Mrvan.

The North Township Fallen Heroes Memorial is expected to be completed in September of 2020.
