Busy Months Ahead for the Lupus Foundation of America, Indiana Chapter

Lupus-Foundation-IndianaNext month is Lupus Awareness Month, which means we are going to have many opportunities to raise awareness for lupus in our community.

It all kicks off with the free Put On Purple event in downtown Indianapolis on May 9. Join the festivities and show your support for lupus patients and your commitment to solving the mystery of lupus by wearing purple and enjoying music, the Lupus interactive tour bus, and food vendors.

Then on May 10, Indianapolis will also be hosting a 'Living With Lupus' Symposium, complete with some exciting guest speakers including Elizabeth Le, M.D. (IU Health Physicians Rheumatology), Dr. Kathleen O'Neil (Rheumatogist, Riley Children's Hospital), Judy Schaff, M.S. (Clinical Psychologist), and Sara Gorman (Author).

One of our most important events of the year is also happening in May; The Crown Point Walk to End Lupus Now on May 17. This is one of our biggest fundraisers and we are so excited to see all of the familiar faces and meet new members of our community.

There is so much to look forward to in the coming weeks, and I sincerely hope you can all participate in these informative and fun events we have planned for you!

This event is a half day of fun, food, and friendship with activities for the whole family to enjoy, all to celebrate our participants' hard work in fundraising!

Walkers can stroll the 1 mile route or walk the 5K (3 mile) route through the beautiful Lake County Fairgrounds. We encourage all participants to show their lupus 'flare' at the walk--wear purple, a team shirt, or accessorize!
