Boys & Girls Clubs of Porter County-Duneland Unit to Host Open House on August 8

Duneland-VOICE-petitionChildren and their families are invited to an Open House hosted by Boys & Girls Clubs of Porter County-Duneland Unit on August 8, 2013. The Open House will be held from 5:30-7:30 PM at the Duneland Unit (135 Lincoln Avenue, Chesterton). Guests are welcomed to tour the club and meet staff members and then stay to enjoy a special showing of Disney’s “Wreck-It Ralph”. Youth members of VOICE will have a petition available for children and adults to sign to rid tobacco images from children’s movies. Half of all youth-rated movies contain scenes of tobacco use, and movies influence approximately 390,000 teens to start smoking every year.

Free hot dogs and refreshments, a variety of games, and a limited supply of school supplies for children will also be available at the Open House.

Join the Boys & Girls Clubs of Porter County-Duneland Unit for a fun night with the family and help get tobacco out of Hollywood! For more information, call the Duneland Unit at (219) 926-9770.
