Boys & Girls Clubs of Northwest Indiana will showcase Club members’ artwork at their 33rd Annual Fine Art Exhibit located in Southlake Mall (Lower Level by Books-A-Million bookstore). The exhibit will be on display this weekend, October 24 to October 26, during normal mall hours. An “Artist’s Reception” will be held on Friday, October 24 from 5:00 pm to 6:00 pm. Artists and other special guests will get a sneak peak at the winning pieces. Boys & Girls Clubs of Northwest Indiana’s Fine Arts Program is made possible, in part, by the Indiana Arts Commission.
The Fine Arts Exhibit is a national Boys & Girls Clubs of America program. The program features local, regional and national artists who are encouraged to create artwork in the following categories: monochromatic drawing, multicolored drawing, pastels, watercolor, oil or acrylic, print making, mixed media, collage and sculpture. This is just one of the many programs that are available to our local youth through the Club.
Boys & Girls Clubs of Northwest Indiana serves youth in Gary, East Chicago, Cedar Lake, Merrillville, Lake Station and Hammond with after school and summer programs. The Clubs programming focuses on five core areas: Character and Leadership Development; Education and Career Development; Health and Life Skills; Sports, Fitness and Recreation; and The Arts.
