The Trojans were led by senior guard Travis Grayson’s 22 points, and sophomore forward Justin Sims’ 18. Sophomore guard Tyler Parrish also hit double digits on the night, posting 13 points, including 9 from beyond the arc to help cap a well-rounded effort from Chesterton.

“That’s kind of the culture we’ve created here, [selflessness] is how we’re going to put ourselves in a position to win,” said Marc Urban, Chesterton head coach. “I think that’s what makes us hard to guard, you have to pick and choose what you’re going to go do.”

Urban called particular attention to how responsible his players are - knowing when to share the ball, wait for their moment, and push through the lane, referencing Grayson’s intelligent play against Lake Central.

“He’s playing unreal right now,” he said. “He’s making the right decisions, knowing when to change speeds, he makes the other guys around him better. He works his tail off … he does a lot of really good things for us on the court and off the court.

The Trojans are in action again tomorrow night at Culver Military Academy, while Lake Central will face Merrillville next Thursday.
