Book Reading and Signing by Local Author at Thomas Library

westchester-public-libraryJoin lifelong Porter County resident Ron Brechner when he presents his recently published book Brothers of a Feather: 107 Fun Tales from the Lives of Four Brothers at Westchester Public Library, 200 W. Indiana Avenue, Chesterton, on Tuesday, October 8, from 7-8:30 pm. Meet in the Bertha Wood room on the second floor of Thomas Library. The program is free of charge and open to the public – no registration is necessary.

Ron “Hawk” Brechner will do two five-minute readings from Brothers of a Feather and will answer questions about any part of the book. Copies of Brothers of a Feather will be available for purchase and for signing by the author.

Readers of the book will enjoy the diagram at the beginning of the book which outlines the bird names of Brechner, his siblings, and his wife. There are 107 tales in the book, all of which readers may find challenging as to their veracity because, as the preface says, “Some of these events are strange, while others are common”. The author invites readers to decide for themselves. In the meanwhile, the family with bird nicknames will continue its unique, maybe bizarre, experiences.

Brechner is a former college science instructor and administrator who later became sales manager at a developing multi-million dollar oil company. He has always used his people skills to help those around him, including his family, friends, and business associates.

Brothers of a Feather:107 Fun tales from the Lives of Four Brothers is Brechner’s first book. His second book has been sent to the publisher and he is currently working on the third.
