Bishop Noll Institute Marching Warriors Receive Spirit Award

Bishop-Noll-InstituteThe Bishop Noll marching band has plenty to give thanks for this month. The Marching Warriors picked up the Espirit de Corps award for its performance in the Chicago Columbus Day Parade. For the third time in four years, the band was recognized for showing spirit and pride in musicianship in the event.

The band will next march in the Hammond Veteran Appreciation Day parade, which steps off at 10 a.m. Nov. 12. The parade route travels from Olcott Avenue, down 173rd street and ends at the Hessville Park Veteran Memorial.

The Marching Warriors will then march in the McDonald's Thanksgiving Parade on Thanksgiving morning in downtown Chicago. The parade will air live on WGN and via live stream on WGNTV.com.

In addition, the band continues to prepare for competition and to raise funds for its trip and performance Dec. 27-30 at the Liberty Bowl in Memphis, Tenn.

“Our kids strive for excellence with each performance never forgetting that it is important to serve and support our communities and in this case our veterans,” said band director Mr. Carioto. “Our goal at Bishop Noll is to produce and instill in our students a strong sense of commitment to contribute and be involved in our communities.”
