The boys and their families collected enough toiletries and supplies to pack more than 50 bags for the Diocese of Gary Catholic Charities Gateway Housing program, which provides permanent housing for the chronically homeless.

On Nov. 28, the team presented their donation to representatives from Catholic Charities including Bishop Noll alum Jeff Stur ’98, who oversees all marketing communication and donor engagement efforts for the agency.

These young men reached out to us, asked how they could help those in need, and went above and beyond the call of duty, which is something we truly appreciate.”

Kay Hosmer, the Gateway Program manager, thanked the teammates and explained to them what their efforts mean to people in need.

“Donations like this create hope in the hearts of people who need it most, especially during the Christmas season,” said Hosmer. “Our Gateway clients have experienced some very difficult times throughout their life, but moments like this mean the world to them, as they provide a feeling of love and higher sense of well-being within the community.”
