Bishop Noll Concert Band and Choir to perform virtual Christmas Concert

Although many fine arts programs around the country have temporarily halted activities, the Bishop Noll Institute Fine Arts Department has found new and innovative ways for students to express their talents this school year. To conclude 2020, the school's concert band and choir will perform its annual Christmas concert via livestream at 6:30 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 20.

After implementing many new safety protocols prior to the school year, the band conducted an outdoor band camp, performed at several football games and live streamed an outdoor concert. The band and choir, under the direction of Rocco Carioto, will perform the Christmas concert from the BNI Auditorium, and audience members will be able to livestream the show via the "BNI Fine Arts" Facebook page.

A virtual audience of school family and friends will be seen by musicians and singers and can interact with applause after each composition is performed.

“This concert will be so unique, fun, and intimate because of the live stream,” Carioto said. “It will have the feel of those old-style Christmas TV specials with Bob Hope or Bing Crosby. It will truly be a family event for everyone to watch.”

The concert will feature many Christmas favorites such as “Feliz Navidad” and “Have a Holly Jolly Christmas” before the audience will be transported by the sounds of Hawaii with a performance of “Mele Kalikimaka.” The show will conclude with a special sing-a-long with viewers and a visit from Santa. For more information on Bishop Noll, visit bishopnoll.org.
