Bailly-Elementary-One-Book-One-School-01Bailly Elementary School Principal Kevin Zeck unwraps and then reveals the book, The World According to Humphrey by Betty G. Birney, the students and staff will be reading together weekly for One School, One Book. This month, Bailly Elementary School is following the lead of Liberty Elementary and Chesterton High School in taking a different approach to encourage students and families to make time to read through their One School, One Book program. Recently, all students and staff were given a copy of the same book, The World According to Humphrey by Betty G. Birney, so that families and staff can set time aside to read that same chapter again at home. At school, activities, lessons, and events are aligned to build a school-wide book club to build a community of readers.

Good listeners: Bailly Elementary students, left to right, David McGrogan, Kristina Lubbock, Alison Novreske, Cadey Lendabarker-Oleck, Addisyn Torres and their classmates listen intently as their Principal Kevin Zeck reads aloud the first chapter of their One School, One Book selection, The World According to Humphrey by Betty G. Birney.
