A third grade student Rachel Mihut, explained the incubation period of the unhatched egg to the visiting parents and first graders as her classmates, Gina Geenen and Sophie Streeter, listen intently. The, third grader DeNiro Zelenika showed a newly hatched chick to first graders Gabe Hamlin, Cole Smith and Evan Lowry after the presentation. A project expansion of the established chick-hatching project was made possible by a grant from the Duneland Education Foundation. The expansion allowed the entire third grade to become “eggs”-perts. Bailly third grade teachers are Mindy Balhoff, Sandy Campbell, Deanna Heslin and Mary Ann Martin.
