Anthony Barnard named GLIAC North Division Player of the Week

Purdue Northwest's Anthony Barnard (Kokomo, Ind./Kokomo) has been selected the Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference Men's Basketball North Division Player of the Week. He's the first men's basketball player in school history to receive the weekly GLIAC honor.

Barnard led the Pride to a pair of conference wins where he averaged 17.5 points, 6.0 rebounds and 3.5 assists. He recorded 14 points, five boards and three assists in Thursday's 91-82 win over Saginaw Valley. Then, Barnard came back with 21 points, seven rebounds, three assists and two steals in Saturday's 93-75 victory over Wayne State. The junior from Kokomo, Ind. shot 50 percent overall from the field during the week and drained 7 of 11 three-point attempts.

Overall this season, Barnard is averaging 14.7 points per game while shooting nearly 40 percent from three-point range. He ranks fifth in the GLIAC at 7.6 rebounds per contest and he's averaging over two assists per outing.

PNW is scheduled for a 7 p.m. CST tipoff at Davenport Thursday night.
