Andrean High School New Softball Head Coach Jesse Spain

Andrean High School is proud to announce the hiring of Jesse Spain as the school’s new varsity softball coach. Spain was the Associate Head Coach for the 2A state runner up 59ers in 2023.

Not only has Spain been a coach at 5959 Broadway, he has 17 years of coaching travel softball in the midwest.

“We are excited to name Jesse Spain as our new varsity softball coach,” Andrean Athletic Director Neil Dimos stated. “He was a big part of the program’s success during the 2023 season and will be an even bigger part of success on the diamond moving forward.”

Spain takes the reins of the Niner program from veteran coach Glenn Eisfelder, who retired following the team’s run to the state championship game.

“It was a pleasure to work with Coach Ice,” Spain said. “I’m grateful for what he has done here with the softball program at Andrean and the foundation that he set in place.”

The Niners are expected to be in the state title hunt again in 2024 as the team doesn’t lose a single player from last year’s squad to graduation.

“We have a roster full of experienced, high level players coming back,” Spain said. “These players are unselfish, and they understand the importance of team, which is awesome. We also have a slew of young talent that is hungry and ready to compete. When you have a collective group of committed girls helping each other grow, supporting each other, the results can be very positive.”

The 2024 softball season begins on March 18.
