American Legion Post 20, City of Crown Point to host Memorial Day Parade and Ceremony

American Legion Post 20 and the City of Crown Point will host its annual Memorial Day Parade and Ceremony on Monday, May 29.

The parade will begin at 10:30 a.m., May 29, with staging at the Cal Ripken Little League parking lot along Joliet Street. The parade begins on Joliet Street, goes to Main Street south to Wells Street and ends at the Historic Maplewood Cemetery.

At 11 a.m., American Legion Post 20, Crown Point Mayor Pete Land, Crown Point officials, the Boy Scouts, the Girl Scouts and local elected officials will gather for a brief ceremony at the Historic Maplewood Cemetery in recognition of those who sacrificed for our freedom.

American Legion Post 20 Cmdr. Kevin Dvorak will deliver opening remarks, with Mayor Pete Land to deliver the reflection following.
