The Duneland YMCA is pleased to announce two new open gym style adult co-ed recreational sports set to start in late April. "We're expanding our Y sports programming," said Program Director, Rick Lewis. "We're developing a variety of fun, entertaining activities with a goal of promoting healthy lifestyle activities that bring people together with shared athletic and recreational interests because the rewards of teamwork, friendly competition and exercise are life-long."
Set! Serve! Spike! Come join the fun and play Open Gym Adult Co-Ed Volleyball at the Y. You can come as an individual, or you can bring a team and play together. Games are played in an open gym style rotation - winners stay on the court. Teams and individuals will play in the order they signed in for the evening, rotating play for two hours of action packed fun. The volleyball season starts on Monday, April 27 from 6:30 - 8:30pm, and runs for six weeks. A minimum of four teams per evening are required and a maximum of 10 teams per evening will be able to sign-in to play. This program is open to the entire community for adults and kids age 16 or older. The cost is $5 per person per evening.
3 on 3 Adult Co-Ed Basketball starts on Thursday, April 30 for six weeks from 7:00 to 9:00pm. The open gym format offers two hours of fast paced, fun packed action for two hours, with some bragging rights thrown in. Winning team stays on the court to meet the next challengers. The team with the most wins at the end of the season is deemed the league winner, and will receive a registration refund. The registration cost is $30 per player for the six week season. There is a maximum of six players per team and a minimum team size of three players. As with other league sports, a minimum of four teams need to be registered for each evening session. 3 on 3 Adult Co-Ed Basketball is open to the community for adults and kids age 16 and older.
