Since she was 18, Tiffani Davis has been working her way through the banking industry. In her current role as Vice President of Retail Sales at Centier Bank, Davis is driven to motivate and inspire her colleagues to be the best service providers in the field. She’s committed to helping her team and her customers, but in fact, supporting others is a big factor in all aspects of her life.
“What I love most about my job is that it encompasses all the things I truly believe I was born to do: helping people, motivating, developing, and coaching them to be the best providers they can be,” Davis said. “One of my missions in life is to help people be better financially through credit coaching, helping people understand the value of a savings account.”
When she’s not working, you can find Davis teaching a Zumba class at Centier or giving back to the community she serves. From serving on the board for The Leadership Institute at Purdue University Northwest and the Advisory Board of Indiana University Northwest School of Business, to being a mentor and an advocate, Davis is committed to improving the Region in any way she can.
“For the last two years, I’ve organized a campus-wide Dress for Success clothing drive with IUN. This is a great program they offer their students and alum that allows them to shop for free professional clothes for interviews and jobs. For the last year, I’ve been a volunteer for the Big Brothers Big Sisters program as well,” Davis said. “I’m also working with the American Heart Association. It has been more a passion for me this year to really bring awareness to the public about how invaluable it is to know the basics about CPR and saving a life.”
Davis also works closely with Laurel Church in Merrillville, and in June, she is embarking on her first mission trip to Peru.
“The base reason I give back is, I grew up in a poor household. My mom was a single mom and she tried to do the best she could for her three kids,” Davis said. “We would not have survived if we did not have the generosity and the help of other people. I want to help people to see that where you start is not where you end up.” No matter where you come from, Davis has a message for everyone.
“[Growing up,] it was a constant struggle but my family always believed we could be more and be better,” she said. “I’ve carried that belief for everybody - not just my family. Anybody can be better and strive for more. With the help of a support system and people who are helping them, people can be anyone they want to be and do anything they want to do.”
