A Northwest Indiana Life in the Spotlight: Judy Alders

judy-alders"The mission of NeighborLink Porter County is practical neighbor to neighbor expressions of love,"Judy Alders stated.

Judy Alders, born and raised in Toledo, Ohio, created NeighborLink Porter County in 2008 along with her husband Larry Alders.NLPC is an organization that helps people that don't have the necessary means to help themselves.

Judy worked her way up the totem pole of retail management right after high school. She then married Larry, and together they raised four children! Judy currently sells La'Bri products, but puts her whole heart into NLPC.

"I love my job; there isn't anything I would rather do," Alders said.

Judy was inspired to create NLPC after attending several years of Sharefest. Sharefest is an event that connects community organizations with their churches and then the combined groups provide services for those in need throughout the community.

"God revealed our passion for service to the community and led us to NeighborLink," Alders said.

NLPC was launched in 2008 and to date has completed over 300 projects ranging from giving rides to house repairs. These projects happen all over the region and NLPC gets bigger and gains more momentum as each year passes.

"My favorite part of the organization is the joy that comes from helping others," Alders said.

Judy has impacted the lives of many people and continues to everyday.

"NLPC is a wonderful organization that has the honor or serving people," Alders said.
