A Latitude Commercial Employee Spotlight: Ryne Pishkur

For some people, switching careers from a school counselor to a career in real estate may seem like a drastic change, but for Ryne Pishkur, Director of Property Management for Latitude Commercial, it was a move that made sense and allowed him to continue doing what he has always excelled at.

“I loved my days of helping people as a counselor, but I was led by my entrepreneurial side to try my hand in something more commission driven. Conducting property management for investors allows me to still lend a helping hand to people and working as a counselor helped hone my ability to work with a diverse group of people trying to navigate various obstacles,” Pishkur said. “Counselors are also trained to be empathetic and I think that is a skill that is applicable to many jobs, including commercial property management.”

As Director of Property Management, Pishkur oversees the execution of Latitude Commercial’s Property Management agreements and works with the sales team to grow the Property Management Division. His role keeps him engaged with the community, forming interpersonal relationships with businesses and entrepreneurs.

“I think we certainly play a role in keeping properties in good repair and condition, and we also do our part to keep local businesses and thus the local economy going,” he said. “I enjoy conducting site visits all throughout the Chicagoland area. I enjoy the unpredictability of what will pop up every day and I enjoy the challenge of working to help each individual client meet their unique needs.”

That drive to meet client needs is especially vital in today’s world, as the Region and the rest of the country continue to battle the negative effects the COVID-19 pandemic has had on the economy and everyday life.

“I think we have yet to see the full effect that the COVID-19 pandemic will have on the industry but if nothing else I think it has emphasized the importance of having a professional, knowledgeable, and proactive commercial property management company overseeing operations,” Pishkur said.

Since becoming licensed with Latitude Commercial in August of 2017, then full-time since June of 2018, Pishkur has developed a close bond with colleagues in an environment that encourages growth and camaraderie.

“There is definitely a culture of teamwork and positive peer pressure at Latitude Commercial. The brokers are always helping each other, the property managers are always helping each other, and both sides of the business often help each other,” he said. “We have regular meetings with Aaron (Managing Broker) to go over progress on our goals and he's great about suggestions for further growth and development.”

“It is recognized that each individual's success is served to boost Latitude and the other agents as well, and that goes a long way to helping the office camaraderie.”

Pishkur and his wife are Crown Point natives and are expecting their first child later this year. While he often can be found spending quality time with friends, family, and their beloved dog, his free time is spent at his old stomping grounds at Andrean High School, where he is the Assistant Varsity Baseball Coach and Clock Operator for the football team, and cheering on the Chicago Cubs and the University of Michigan football team.
