6th Annual Hobart Clocktower Model Boat Race Set for September 4-7

hobart-boat-race-logoThe City of Hobart welcomes the Indy Masters Clocktower Model Boat Race to Lake George on Thursday, September 4 through Sunday, September 7. The races begin at 8 a.m. and continue throughout the day until 5 p.m. Spectators can view the races from the 3rd Street Bridge or on bleachers along the lakefront.

This event hosts a variety of different types of boats, mostly hydroplanes. Some boats look like real full size unlimited boats. The model boats are powered by nitro methane engines, gasoline or electric motors. Boat speeds can range from 40 miles per hour to over 90 miles per hour. Indy Master racers are competing for the infamous, Clocktower trophy, designed by Dr. James Herrick of Hobart. The trophy is an exact replica of Hobart’s Clocktower located along 3rd Street.

Food will be available in the Downtown Hobart restaurant food tent. Pop, water & coffee will sold by the Hobart Lions Club.

Don’t miss the excitement!
