Last week, the City of Gary Public Board of Works announced plans to pave 55 streets this summer. That massive paving project kicked off today at Taft St. and 21st avenues. Reith Riley, the selected contractor, has released the preliminary schedule so that Gary residents and others traveling through the city will be aware of delays and detours.
“We would like to thank the residents in advance for their patience as we embark on this major paving project,” said Public Board of Work Director, Cloteal LaBroi. “We will continue to share updated information so that drivers can plan ahead as they navigate the city.”
For the remainder of this week, paving will take place on Taft St. from 25th to 23rd, 21st from Taft St. to Chase St., 19th Avenue from Clark Road to Taft St. and 15th Avenue from Colfax St. to Roosevelt St. Attached is a preliminary schedule of paving that will be updated as needed.
